It will soon be up to Virginia voters to decide if the state’s Democratic legislature should be permitted to modify congressional maps before the November election.
The state Senate as soon as Friday is expected to complete the legislature’s approval of a proposed Virginia constitutional amendment that would authorize Democratic lawmakers to engage in mid-decade redistricting. The Senate’s approval would send the amendment to a statewide yes-or-no election in the spring.
