Vulnerable Republicans Boost Fundraising Early in 2026 Midterms

House Republicans in the most competitive districts raised $1 million on average in this year’s first quarter, a sign they want to fortify themselves early in what may be a challenging 2026 election midway through President Donald Trump’s second term.

The 19 Republicans in the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Patriot incumbent-protection program began April with an average of $1.2 million in campaign cash-on-hand, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis of Federal Election Commission reports due Tuesday.
