President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the country’s weather and climate agency said Wednesday the organization would look to leverage more technology as it assesses the aftermath of deadly Texas flooding last week.
Neil Jacobs, the nominee to lead the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which oversees the National Weather Service, told a Senate panel the agency could use more telecommunications and potentially satellites to send out accurate weather warnings quickly before storms.
