The White House is sticking by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick after Democrats called on him to resign over an admission that he had visited the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s island.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump “fully supports” Lutnick after he testified before the Senate on Tuesday that he had lunch with Epstein on his private island. Lutnick previously said he had cut ties with Epstein in 2005, but said the lunch he had was in 2012.
