White House Hopes to Sell Congress on Changes in ICE Operations

The White House is trying to reassure lawmakers that the administration has made appropriate changes to its ICE operations in Minnesota, even as the Department of Homeland Security remains shuttered.

In a memo obtained by Bloomberg Government, the White House asserts that Border Czar Tom Homan has completed his work in Minneapolis and left the city safer. The fact sheet was sent to Democratic and Republican offices on Sunday and comes after ICE has faced heavy criticism for its handling of protesters, which have included two shooting deaths by federal immigration agents in Minnesota.
