White House Tasks US Intel Agencies With Hunting Down AI Theft

The US intelligence community must keep tabs on foreign spies who seek to obtain and use “the fruits of AI innovation in the United States to serve their national security goals,” according to a White House memorandum issued Thursday.

The memorandum designates the collection of information and tactics of competitors’ operations against the US AI sector as a top intelligence priority and directs government agencies to provide AI developers with timely cybersecurity and counterintelligence information to keep their inventions secure.
