Top Senate Republican Seeks Signal Group Chat Watchdog Probe (1)

Senate Armed Services Committee leaders will demand that the Trump administration conduct an expedited inspector general investigation into the inadvertent inclusion of the Atlantic magazine’s top editor in a Signal group chat on preparations for attacks against militants in Yemen.

Roger Wicker, the panel’s GOP chairman, said Wednesday he would also seek a secure briefing to his committee from a senior administration official, and said he believed that the information disclosed in the chat among top US officials was classified.
