‘Woke Week’ Dominates House Floor Despite Swing-District Apathy

The House GOP is using its penultimate week in town before the 2024 election to target “woke” companies and schools, even as some of its most vulnerable incumbents don’t see the message as helpful in wooing swing voters.

Opposing school diversity programs and environmental investing standards will be Republicans’ central theme on the House floor this week. But what conservatives label “anti-woke” messaging is far less ubiquitous in vulnerable Republicans’ campaign ads ahead of the November election, which more often focus on their economic and border policies rather than culture wars.
