Lobbyists with clients across industries all have their eyes on annual defense legislation, one of the few items poised to clear Congress by year’s end, and are trying to get riders added to it.
Major fights are playing out over the National Defense Authorization Act — with special attention being paid to artificial intelligence policy.
“The NDAA is the last train leaving the station in 2025, so naturally you see members of Congress trying to catch a ride with their AI bills,” said Adam Kovacevich, founder and CEO of the tech lobbying group Chamber of Progress.
