Youth Online Safety Bipartisan Bills Advanced by Senate Panel

Senators advanced a pair of bipartisan measures aimed at improving social media experiences for minors as Congress considers new regulations on the tech industry.

The Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday approved the Stop the Scroll Act (S.1885) and the No Fentanyl on Social Media Act (S.3618), which seek to address risks posed to young people on social media apps, such as Snap Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc.‘s Instagram.
