On April 29, a Texas appeals court indefinitely paused a proposed deal that would have allowed satirical media site The Onion to license Alex Jones’ Infowars intellectual property while a receiver maintained ownership pending a later sale.
This proposed licensing aptly illustrates how, in distressed markets, value increasingly resides not in the underlying business itself.
