The Associated Press was sued by a California resident for allegedly intercepting his web browsing data through hidden tracking technologies in violation of state and federal privacy laws.
John Tasker filed the class action lawsuit on behalf of California users of the AP’s news website. AP embedded tracking pixels from companies including Meta, The Trade Desk, LiveIntent and Comscore that automatically captured the specific web pages users visited without their consent, according to a complaint filed Saturday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
