Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is adding three new partners to its sports dealmaking team, amid intensifying competition among law firms to capture a growing pipeline of sports transactions.
Michael Kuh and Eric Geffner have joined as partners in the mergers and acquisitions practice and will serve as co-heads of the firm’s sports group within its sports, media and entertainment practice, according to a statement reviewed by Bloomberg News. The law firm has also appointed Matthew Carpenter-Dennis, who oversaw team ownership transactions at National Basketball Association, as a partner.
