Former Girardi Keese lawyer Robert Finnerty is fighting California State Bar charges by arguing that Tom Girardi—not Finnerty—was responsible for the failure to pay the Ruigomez family their share of a $53 million settlement, Quinn Wilson reports. In opening statements, Finnerty’s lawyer said he had advised the family against letting Girardi hold their funds and was among the few people trying to push Girardi to be responsive and responsible.
