Montana-based marijuana dispensary Heirloom Remedies and its owner must pay the US government $312,651 in damages and penalties for making misrepresentations to secure loans during the Covid-19 pandemic, a federal district court said.
The government satisfied its burden in showing that Heirloom violated the False Claims Act by falsely certifying eligibility for the loans, Judge Kathleen L. DeSoto of the US District Court for the District of Montana said in a Wednesday opinion granting the government’s motion for a default judgment.
