EQT AB has nominated its Asia chief, Jean Eric Salata, to take over as chairperson in a move underscoring the Swedish firm’s ambition to become a dominant force across the global private equity industry.
Salata will replace current chair Conni Jonsson, a Swede who is widely regarded as the primary architect of EQT having founded the company in 1994 and been its chief executive for 20 years. Jonsson plans to step down at the next shareholder meeting, according to a statement on Monday.
