Hospital Sisters Health System Stuck With Genetic Privacy Suit

Hospital Sisters Health System failed to convince a federal court that it lacked subject-matter jurisdiction to oversee litigation accusing it of illegally collecting information protected under Illinois’ Genetic Information Privacy Act.

Plaintiff Mary Million sufficiently alleged that the class of people she seeks to represent is large enough to invoke federal jurisdiction, Judge Sue E. Myerscough said for the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
