Starbucks Workers in California Sue Over Dress Code Expenses (1)

Starbucks Corp. workers in California are accusing the coffee giant of unlawfully failing to pay employees back for their expenses associated with its new dress code.

The workers, supported by the Starbucks Workers United union, filed lawsuits Thursday in state and federal court alleging violations of the California Labor Code. They brought claims under the Private Attorneys General Act, which permits workers to sue on behalf of other workers and the state for Labor Code infractions.
