The US Labor Department asked another federal appeals court for the green light to continue shuttering the Job Corps training program for low-income young adults.
Attorneys for the government filed an appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, requesting the panel reverse a preliminary injunction that halted the DOL from pausing Job Corps operations.
In July, a DC-based district judge granted the emergency relief, finding that the DOL’s move earlier this year to direct 99 Job Corps centers across the country to shut down was likely illegal.
