Trump Backs Labor Chief Chavez-DeRemer Amid Misconduct Probe

President Donald Trump retains confidence in Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, according to the White House, despite an inspector general probe into claims she engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staffer and committed travel fraud.

“He’s aware of the internal investigation, and he stands by the secretary, and he thinks that she’s doing a tremendous job at the Department of Labor on behalf of American workers,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday.
