The European Commission will include provisions meant to curb tax avoidance into an upcoming bill meant to simplify tax data-sharing between EU countries.
Parts of so-called Unshell, a bill meant to identify shell entities set up to avoid taxes, will be included in the revision of the Directive on Administrative Cooperation, or DAC, legislation meant to support that data sharing, Reinhard Biebel, head of unit for direct tax policy at the commission, said Thursday at the CFE Tax Symposium in Ghent, Belgium.
