European Commission Approves Extension of France State Aid Income Tax Reduction Regime for Specified Investments

The European Commission (EC) Jan. 14 issued State Aid Case Decision No. SA.120665, approving France’s extension of the IR-PME income tax reduction regime for individuals making cash subscriptions to the capital of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The decision includes measures to: 1) extend the IR-PME regime for nine additional months, to Sept. 30, 2026, from Dec. 31, 2025; 2) continue support for indirect SME investments through shares in innovation mutual funds (FCPIs), direct investments in a socially useful solidarity enterprise (ESUS), and investing in innovative start-ups (JEIs); 3) retain the increased income tax reduction rates of 25 percent for ...
