Grant Thornton’s Australian arm has hired investment bank Greenhill to advise on the possible sale of an equity stake, the firm said Friday.
In an emailed statement the firm said that it had received a number of offers from potential purchasers, although no decision has been made over whether to sell a stake. There has been a wave of outside investment into accounting firms in the US and UK over recent years, and Grant Thornton’s private-equity owned US and UK arms recently bought member firms in countries including France and Switzerland.
