Homeowners in predominately non-White communities will get another chance to challenge Nassau County, NY’s property tax system as unconstitutionally discriminatory after a state appeals court revived their proposed class action Wednesday.
“Their allegations that they paid a disproportionate share of property taxes pursuant to an illegally imposed assessment system are sufficient to establish standing,” Justice Betsy Barros wrote for the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department.
