The Pennsylvania Governor signed a law incorporating Act 96 of 2020, the reenactment and amendment of the First Class Township Code, Act 331 of 1931, into the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes as Part II of Title 73 (Townships). The law includes modifying language to conform to case law developments, removing obsolete provisions, harmonizing provisions to be consistent with other municipal codes and incorporating certain other substantive changes. The law includes provisions authorizing property taxes. The law provides that it takes effect in 60 days. [S.B. 1036, enacted 02/11/26]
