Spain Cabinet Approves Royal Decree Setting Interprofessional Minimum Wage Rates for 2025

The Spanish Council of Ministers Feb. 11 approved a royal decree to increase interprofessional minimum wage (SMI) rates, from Jan. 1. The decree includes measures to set: 1) the monthly SMI rate at 1,184 euros (US$1,224.89) in 14 payments, an increase per annum of 700 euros (US$724.16); 2) the daily SMI rate at 39.47 euros (US$40.84); 3) the annual SMI rate at 16,576 euros (US$17,153.97); 4) the SMI rate for temporary and seasonal workers per legal working day at 56.08 euros (US$58.05); and 5) the SMI rate for domestic workers at 9.26 euros per hour worked actually (US$9.58).
