The number of new UK government consulting contracts has plunged over the past year since the Labour administration promised to slash spending after coming into power, according to a new report.
Data provider Tussell said Thursday that the number of new management consulting contracts awarded by local and national government fell 18% in the fiscal year that ended March 31, although it remained well above 2019-20 levels. The market is dominated by big accounting firms, with Deloitte ranking as the largest contractor.
