Wisconsin DOR Updates Alcohol Beverage Laws

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) published its Fall 2025 Alcohol Industry Update, which includes several changes to alcohol beverage laws and regulations. The update includes a new definition of “public place”, effective Jan. 1, 2026, requiring event venues that meet certain criteria to obtain either a municipal alcohol beverage license or a No-Sale Event Venue Permit from the DOR’s Division of Alcohol Beverages.
