Al Roker Fails to Shed Ex-Producer’s Discrimination Claims

Famed weatherman Al Roker will have to face claims in federal court that he and his production company violated New York State and city anti-discrimination laws when they fired a producer who complained about racism and dismantling of a DEI policy on the PBS cartoon show “Weather Hunters.”

Roker and Al Roker Entertainment Senior Vice President Lisa Tucker failed to convince the Southern District of New York that plaintiff William Schultz—a White man—can’t bring discrimination claims because he isn’t a member of a protected class.
