Amazon Staten Island Center Is Retailer’s First to Unionize (1)

Amazon Inc. lost its bid to challenge a representation election at a New York warehouse, cementing it as the company’s first unionized facility.

The National Labor Relations Board dismissed Amazon’s objection to the 2022 election Thursday, ruling that the company’s arguments and presented evidence didn’t warrant a rerun election. The workers at the JFK8 fulfillment facility on Staten Island unionized with the Amazon Labor Union in a 2,654-2,131 vote in 2022.
