Apollo, Fidelity Win Look at Discovery in Ex-Judge Scandal Case

Apollo Global Management and Fidelity Management & Research Co. can look at but not participate in discovery related to a Justice Department unit’s efforts to claw back millions of dollars in fees earned by a Texas law firm as part of a bankruptcy court scandal.

Apollo and Fidelity can review existing and ongoing discovery in the US Trustee’s challenges to fees that Jackson Walker LLP collected following revelations that the firm didn’t disclose a romantic relationship between former judge David R. Jones and ex-Jackson Walker bankruptcy partner Elizabeth Freeman, US Bankruptcy Judge Marvin Isgur ruled at a hearing Monday.
