BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 7148, Latest FY 2026 Funding Package

Federal agencies and programs covered by the Defense, Labor-Health and Human Services-Education, and Transportation-Housing and Urban Development spending bills would receive full-year federal funding for fiscal 2026 under H.R. 7148.

The measure is the last in a series of bicameral, bipartisan measures lawmakers negotiated to fund most of the federal government ahead of the Jan. 30 deadline set by the November continuing resolution (Public Law 119-37; BGOV Bill Analysis) that ended last year’s record-breaking 43-day government shutdown.
