A Washington federal district court granted summary judgment to King County on the claims of a lifeguard that he was refused a reasonable accommodation for his religious beliefs regarding the county’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and state law, ruling that because of the specific essential job duties of the lifeguard’s position, the county couldn’t offer a reasonable accommodation that wouldn’t create an undue burden in maintaining safety.
