Delaware Will Give DHS Subpoenaed Wage Records After Court Loss

Delaware state officials said they’ll turn over employer records to the Trump administration after losing an appellate court bid to disregard a Department of Homeland Security subpoena.

Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings said there was no viable alternative to complying with the subpoena, which she called “a fig leaf for naked racial profiling” in a statement Friday.

DHS had sought wage data from the Delaware Department of Labor for 15 businesses for work-site enforcement investigations. The statement from Delaware officials called the request an overreach and part of the administration’s immigration crackdown.
