The US Department of Labor’s Inspector General Larry Turner was part of a spate of firings by President Donald Trump, the agency said Monday.
Turner received notice of his termination from the Office of Presidential Personnel Friday, a spokesperson for the DOL’s Office of Inspector General confirmed via email to Bloomberg Law. Turner had served at the agency since December 2021.
He departs as the internal agency watchdog is working on investigations into the DOL’s capability to respond to mine emergencies and its response to a recent surge in child labor violations.
