EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas lauded the commission’s more active enforcement of Republican civil rights priorities, which she called a departure from the agency’s past GOP leadership.
Some of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Republican leaders acted as “a version of a Democrat, either weaker or the same,” or with a strong libertarian view that essentially “ignored the agency,” Lucas said Thursday on a panel hosted by the Federalist Society.
“In the Trump administration, there is a third way, and we are doing it,” she said. “And that is to effectively and aggressively enforce the law.”
