US Citizenship and Immigration Services received enough H-1B worker registrations from businesses to reach the statutory cap for fiscal year 2027, the agency announced Tuesday.
The March lottery process for the specialty occupation visas was the first held under new Trump administration regulations weighting selection odds in favor of workers who are more senior and more highly paid in their field.
Workers are also subject to a $100,000 H-1B fee if they’re hired from outside the US or require consular processing.
