EPA Drops Biden-era Policies in Draft Chemical Risk Rule (1)

The EPA is seeking comment on a revised chemical risk evaluation rule that would drop worker protection, narrow the extent of chemical risks it examines, and ease the workload of companies asking the agency to assess their chemical’s risks.

The proposed chemical risk evaluation rule, released Monday, would drop policies the Biden administration adopted as it strove to craft regulations and carry out risk evaluations per its interpretation of the 2016 Toxic Substances Control Act amendments.
