House Republicans proposed a 27% funding decrease for the Labor Department, mirroring much of the Trump administration’s wish list.
The bill to fund the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education released Thursday morning would eliminate several key parts of the DOL including the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Women’s Bureau, and International Labor Affairs Bureau. In all, the package would give the department $3.7 billion less than current funding levels, according to documents from the House Appropriations Committee.
