HSBC Securities USA Inc. and an ex-trader have agreed to end the employee’s lawsuit that alleges he was fired for reporting that coworkers had repeatedly engaged in illegal trading.
Attorneys for HSBC and Stephen Callahan signed and filed a stipulation to dismiss his employment lawsuit with prejudice, which notes that each side will pay their own fees and costs. There’s no mention of a possible settlement, though Judge J. Paul Oetken of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in April of 2024 that settlement discussions had taken place.
