US Citizenship and Immigration Services should take immediate action to issue work permits for qualified immigrants before the end of the Biden administration, more than 200 immigrant advocacy groups told the agency in a letter Wednesday.
More than 1.6 million people had applied for work permits by March of this year, the groups said, and another half million applicants could join their ranks after the rollout of a parole plan for spouses and children of US citizens.
