An federal judge rebuffed the Trump administration’s push to reverse his injunction barring the US Labor Department from enforcing parts of an executive order targeting diversity initiatives, despite a recent Supreme Court ruling.
Judge Matthew F. Kennelly of US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said late Thursday the court had the right to temporarily enjoin enforcement of the White House order requiring recipients of federal funds certify they don’t operate programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
