Mayo Clinic and Medica Health Plan Solutions must face allegations that vague payment terms and an inaccurate provider directory force patients to pay high out-of-network bills, a Minnesota federal judge ruled.

Judge Jeffrey M. Bryan of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota on Friday dismissed counts related to racketeering, employee benefits, and mental health parity laws, saying plaintiff Sherry Orrison did not include specific details to justify the claims.
