The union representing Columbus, Ohio’s police officers may participate in a fatal shooting lawsuit that includes allegations that the city too often uses excessive force against Black people, the Sixth Circuit said Friday.
The Fraternal Order of Police, Capitol City Lodge #9 met the elements necessary to intervene, US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Judge Stephanie Dawkins Davis wrote for a three-judge panel.
