A Texas federal judge has partially blocked a US Labor Department rule that required contractors on federal construction projects to pay suppliers and truck drivers prevailing wages.
The ruling Monday from the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas blocked the 2023 prevailing wage rule’s application to “prefabrication companies, material suppliers, and truck drivers, professional surveyors,” and its provision that applies prevailing wages to contracts that are silent on such requirements.
The rule’s updated formula for setting prevailing wage rates was not impacted by the ruling, however.
