Everything was looking up for the University of Nevada Las Vegas football in September. The team had a 3-0 record and was ranked #23 in the country, the highest it has ever placed. Thanks in large part to quarterback Matthew Sluka, the team was viewed as a strong candidate to qualify for the College Football Playoff.
