The UK’s audit watchdog named two new enforcement officials Friday as it continues to rejig its oversight approach.
The Financial Reporting Council’s director of audit quality review Anthony Barrett will become executive director of supervision Oct. 20. The council also named tribunal judge Penrose Foss as head of investigations and enforcement starting Dec. 15.
The moves come after the regulator launched a “comprehensive” review of its enforcement processes, with an eye toward resolving cases faster and avoiding the need for full investigations of less serious offenses.
