Cyprus Gives Approval for EU to Implement New Global Tax Deal

Cyprus consented to enforcing a package of amendments to the OECD’s global tax deal, clearing the way for the reforms to take direct effect within the EU’s own minimum tax rules.

European Commission director for direct taxation Benjamin Angel wrote in a LinkedIn post Thursday that the bloc would publish an information notice in the EU’s official journal that confirms the package as qualifying safe harbors under its minimum tax directive after Cyprus gave its formal consent.
