Information Symmetry Helps Resolve Tax Disputes, Authorities Say

Companies should provide the same set of information to all authorities involved in a tax dispute for faster resolution, policymakers said Wednesday.

“Very often we have found that we start discussions and then realize that the facts in place between the two competent authorities were not exactly the same,” creating different understandings of the same case, Vinay Kumar Singh, joint secretary at India’s Central Board of Direct Taxes, said at the OECD Tax and Development Days virtual event.
