Nigeria’s Tinubu Taps Tax-Reform Chief for Finance Ministry Role

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has named the head of the country’s tax reform committee as deputy finance minister to help the West African nation implement new levies that took effect in January.

Taiwo Oyedele, 50, chair of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms that overhauled Nigeria’s tax laws, will take over the role pending confirmation by the Senate, according to an emailed statement from Nigeria’s presidency.
